The Heroes Pop Swap :: Charlotte’s Pop Culture Swap Meet takes place outside our store on Saturday, October 29th from 10 AM until at least 4 PM. There will be local artists selling their arts and crafts as well as local collectors selling great items from their collections. Available items include original art, comic books, graphic novels, hardcovers, novels, magazines, t-shirts, records & compact discs, video games, Star Wars toys, Transformers, action figures, statues, wooden carvings, and lots of other collectibles! Trick-or-treating and costumes are encouraged! This is a fun Halloween event for the entire family and a great place to do some early Christmas shopping!

Sandman: Endless Nights
While I was preparing for our 6th Heroes Discussion Group which featured Sandman: Seasons of the Mist, I pondered whether Sandman was the most influential comic book of the last thirty years. Four years and twenty eight discussions later, I believe it to be true. Do you agree?
For Halloween, please plan to join us for our 35th Discussion group as we revisit Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series with the stand-alone anthology, Sandman: Endless Nights.

Many love Gaiman’s comic work; but he has some very strong minded and vocal detractors.

A repeat winner. We may have to retire this category again…because the gals and guys over at Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find just keep hitting home runs. From producing star-studded events like Charlotte Mini Con, Free Comic Book Day, and HeroesCon to just carrying the most diverse mix of new and old comics in the city every day, nobody comes close to holding a candle to Heroes.

Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find is on the road again but this time we don’t have to go far! Sunday, July 31 is the Charlotte Comicon and this great one-day show is in our own backyard. The Charlotte Comicon is a fun, family-friendly show and Dave Hinson and Rick Fortenberry do a great job putting together this quarterly convention. This is the perfect place to dig for bargains and meet some local comic creators. They have a bunch of great guests in attendance, like

Last chance for Advance 3-Day passes to HeroesCon 2011 that is! HeroesCon 2011 starts in 5 days! The deadline for purchasing these will be Tuesday, May 31 at 9:00 PM EST. Advance 3-Day passes entitle you to early entry every day of the convention (at our discretion). Every year we also give an signed and numbered print to advance pass holders and this year is no different! The 2011 incentive print features art by master of the macabre, Bernie Wrightson! Feast your peepers on a teaser of the art for this year’s print above. NOTE: Prints are not guaranteed to be ready for pickup until possibly Friday evening or Saturday as Bernie has to sign over a 1000 of these bad boys when he gets into town.
