This Labor Day weekend will mark the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of Heroes opening in our new location at 417 Pecan Avenue! It’s hard to believe that what is now our new store was once our WAREHOUSE, and what better way to celebrate our anniversary than by throwing a  THREE-DAY WAREHOUSE SALE!

Back in 2013 we sold a staggering 300 long boxes, and over 100,000 comics, in just FOUR DAYS at our first official Warehouse Sale! To celebrate our first year in our new home #UnderTheWaterTower, we are once again purging our overstock of nearly 100 long boxes and selling them at CAN’T-MISS PRICES!!

We will offer extended hours on Saturday, September 1st from 10am-10pm and Sunday, September 2nd from 10am-6pm. Be sure to join us on LABOR DAY Monday from 10am-6pm when all sale books will be reduced to just 25¢!! Prices will start at $1 on Saturday and drop each day but, for the best selection, we hope to see you on Saturday!

Speaking of “Blasts from the Past”, Saturday, September 1st at 2pm will mark the return of the HEROES DISCUSSION GROUP!
Our first discussion group since 2012 will find Heroes’ own Andrew Mansell and Samuel Reynolds-Oosting leading the talk as we probe the depths of the Dark Horse hit BLACK HAMMER VOL. 1 from writer Jeff Lemire, artist Dean Ormston and colorist Dave Stewart! We welcome any and all to join the discussion group, so if you are a fan of BLACK HAMMER like we are, please feel free to join us on Saturday, September 1st during the sale!

The HEROES staff will be hitting the road THIS WEEKEND for the TWO-DAY Charlotte Comicon at the Concord Convention Center located at the Embassy Suites just across I-85 from Concord Mills Mall! (5400 John Q. Hammons Dr. NW, Concord NC 28027)

You can catch Shelton, Seth, Karla and Winslow selling funny books from 10am-6pm on Saturday, August 18 and from 10am-4pm on Sunday, August 19th! Admission is just $5.00 with Kids 12 & Under FREE!

If you have a special request for a comic book, or if you would like to place a supply order to pick up at the show, please let us know in advance! Email [email protected] by Friday morning, August 17, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests!

This Sunday we’re headed to the Atlanta Comic Convention! Come out and see us! Our pal and one of the best inkers in the business Dexter Vines will be there too!

We hope you’re as excited for Free Comic Book Day as we are! Along with the free comics and great artists sketching we’re having a great sale and The CW and The Mystery Machine will be here on site for the festivities!

We’ve put together this handy map to help with parking. Free lots will be located between Boy Scouts of America and St Martin’s Episcopal Church on 7th street, across from Children’s Home of North Carolina also on 7th St., and also beside the 2 story brick building next to Pecan Point (DO NOT PARK AT PECAN POINT). These lots will all be marked with HEROES PARKING signs. All of these lots are in walking distance of the store if you’d like to get out and experience our wonderful neighborhood. We’ll also be running shuttles to these lots regularly if you’d like a ride to the store.

As always, there is lots of parking on the residential streets in our neighborhood. Check for spots on Pecan, 8th, 9th, Clement, Clarice, Ridgeway, Bay, Lamar, and the Rose Garden at Independance Park. Use the Trolley Walk if you park on Greenway and 5th Street.  They are all very close, please just be mindful of residents driveways.

We just got in a great new collection of over 10,000 comics but we just don’t have room to store them! These books date from the early 80’s to about 2015. They include Marvel, DC, Image and a few indies. No duplication.

Starting tomorrow: 

• Friday 11/10 at 10 am those fresh collector’s items will be in the store for $2 each with discounts for quantity purchases.
• Saturday 11/11, this bargain stock will be $1 each, again with discounts for quantity.
• Sunday 11/12 the remaining stock goes to 50 cents apiece, with quantity discounts still available!
• Whatever is left on Monday 11/13 will be 25 cents each and a reasonable offer will take them all.

So 4 days only! Get in here and fill those want lists!

The construction of the parking lot between us and our old location has been completed, so you don’t have to fight the construction equipment any longer. 8th Street is still your best parking option. It’s plentiful, legal and free! Please don’t ever park across Pecan Avenue in the Pecan Point lot. THEY BOOT RELENTLESSLY! We would hate for your vehicle to be held hostage to the tune of $100 or more. Be urban and take advantage of our beautiful walkable neighborhood and park “Under The Water Tower!”
