HEROESCON FUN RUN?

At last year’s HeroesCon, a small group of people got together and organized a little Saturday morning 3 mile “fun run”. It was just a word-of-mouth thing, but it was open to anyone who wanted to participate. It ended up being a group of about 15 people. Some were comic pros, some were comic enthusiasts. Everyone went at their own pace and just had a good time.
We wanted to open it up to everyone this year and see if anyone would be interested in doing it as an official Heroes Con activity. It’s not a race. There are no prizes. It’ll just be a bunch of people running and walking for the fun of it. If there are enough people who say they are interested, we might even look at doing a special t-shirt for the participants featuring art by some of the top comic artists coming to Heroes Con this year.
So what do you say? Would you want to sign up for a Heroes Con fun run? Let us know in the comments section, on Facebook and Twitter. Spread the word!

Yes. Absolutely.
*would kind of help to dispel some of the more negative stereotypes about the demographic of individuals that read comics.
Right?!
My 11yr old son runs 5K events and on a raceTeam I’m sure he would be interested for fun since he doesn’t har any June races committed to!
Ill do it!
I’m down…as long as it’s before the Con opens!
Let’s Do This!
I’d do it in a minute!
will definitely do it. great idea.
I haven’t had a heart attack lately, but I would be interested in participating. however I’m more tortoise than hare. I DO second the notion of it being held early enough not to impact on getting into the show and Saturday sounds like a winner also.
Great idea! I would definitely be up for that. And the t-shirt sounds fantastic!
Count me in!
Odd– I’ve never heard the words fun and run together before– must be an Earth 2 Imaginary Tale. HA (Da Bears!)
I’d be on board as well.
Count me in…sounds like a lot of fun.
Last year, I made a lifestyle change right after Heroescon. I knew I was overweight, but with lugging bags around, staying on my feet for days, etc. Heroescon 2011 was the first time I ever really felt fat and out-of-shape. When I got back home I started eating better, became an exercise junkie and just simply started making healthier choices. June 22nd (first day of Heroescon 2012) was the date for reaching my fitness goals. I was going to be in shape this time around!!! On the 22nd of every month I weighed in and took pictures and I’m proud to say as of April 22nd I have gone from 247lbs to 190 lbs. I feel fantastic, have more energy and am happier than ever and still have two months to go! My year long adventure may be coming to an end, but the lifestyle I’ve chosen for myself is definitely here to stay. I had intended to keep a blog to record my adventure, but as always, real life got in the way. lol!
I’ve really gotten into endurance running / jogging / walking since I began this, so this is right up my alley!!
I’M THERE!!!
My brother, and fellow comic nerd, died at 35 due to complications from obesity. This is a genius idea. I’m in.
I am totally for it. Good excuse to get in a work out while I’m traveling.
Yes. I’m down.
