When will Heroes

That is an EXCELLENT question and one that we are not entering into without careful consideration for the continued safety of our customers, as well as our staff.

The Stay-At-Home order for the state of North Carolina ends today (Friday, May 8), HOWEVER, Heroes will NOT be opening to the public at this time.

When we do open, it will be with limited capacity and additional guidelines.

We can still ship items to you at this time. You can request items and arrange shipping with an email to HeroesArentHardToFind@gmail.com

We expect our first shipment of NEW product to be available for sale on Wednesday, May 20.

When we DO open to the public, we will operate with the following restrictions in place until the state of North Carolina has cleared all three Phases for reopening, per the State Government guidelines:

  • We will limit the number of people in the store to 3-5 people at a time.
  • Everyone (including staff) will be required to wear a mask while shopping or working inside of our store.
If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you.
(We understand that some people will not want to wear a mask and, while we understand that is your personal preference, you will not be permitted to shop in our store without a mask. We appreciate your patience, understanding and consideration for everyone’s safety at this time. If you do not want to wear a mask, or if you would prefer not to come inside the store until circumstances have improved, we are happy to arrange shipping for books.)
  • We request that all customers utilize the provided hand sanitizer upon entering the store.
  • We will be observing social distancing inside the store.
Please be courteous to your fellow customers and allow for at least six feet of distance between yourself and others. If another customer is browsing in the section that you would like to browse, we ask that you please be patient and wait for your turn. We’re all in this together and showing each other respect will go a long way!!
  • During this time we ask customers to be mindful of how much they handle books and other product.
We will be sanitizing all surfaces and high-contact areas as frequently as possible, but we cannot sanitize comic books without causing damage. We ask that customers please be mindful of items as they handle them, and wash their hands or use hand sanitizer after contact.
  • We will be sanitizing and washing our hands after every transaction and as often as possible.
  • We ask anyone who feels unwell to please stay at home (this includes our staff).
  • We have installed a new Point-Of-Sale system. (Thanks Elias!)
Check-out may take a little longer as we acclimate to this new system, and we appreciate your patience! Once we have the hang of things, it should be easier to update your reserve list and keep track of what we have in stock!
  • Our hours may be different until further notice.
Until things are TRULY BACK TO NORMAL, our store hours may be affected.
For now, expect our hours to remain Monday-Saturday: 10AM-6PM and Sunday: 1PM-6PM.
  • We will keep you posted to any changes to our guidelines as they happen.
Please follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) or sign up for our Newsletter for regular updates!

This sobering piece was created by our dear friend, formidable artist, and long-time HeroesCon supporter, Patrick Dean. It illustrates the importance of placing health and safety above commerce. We understand the need and desire for a return of commerce, and we have felt the financial impact of these difficult times as much as anyone. That being said, we feel an incredible responsibility to act in the best interest of EVERYONE, not only the healthy and the strong. These times won’t be safe for ANYONE until they’re safe for EVERYONE, and we need to work together to find a balance until the world can finally breathe again.

We care about the well-being of ALL of our customers and staff and are doing everything in our power to keep everyone safe and healthy during this time.
The following precautions are being taken by our staff:

  1. We are disinfecting surfaces several times an hour with antibacterial wipes and sprays.
  2. We have hand sanitizer on-hand and our employees sanitize and wash their hands as frequently as possible with hot water and antibacterial soap.
  3. Any staff member who has a cough, sniffle, temperature, or is feeling generally unwell, will stay home and avoid contact with others.
  4. We are reviewing CDC recommendations daily and will adjust any procedures as necessary.

We will continue to order enough product to cover our subscribers and any customer requests made in advance. If we are sold-out of a title you are looking for, we may be able to reorder those items. Please let us know if you are missing a title you wanted to pick up. If you are aware of a title that will be coming out over the next several weeks/months that you would like to reserve, we ask that you please request those items in advance if possible so that we might have the best opportunity to fulfill your want-list.

Again, we are adjusting to our new Point-Of-Sale system at this time. If you are a Reserve Customer, please make sure we have your current contact information. If you are a Reserve Customer, and you have not heard from us over the past month, please call or send us an email to ensure we have your current information on file! (heroesarenthardtofind@gmail.com)

We hope you are all doing well, and are being kind to one another!
We look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

We will need you to help us organize the following:

  5. If you would prefer to make payment via PayPal, we can arrange that as well. Please call or email for details.
  6. Please make sure that we have your complete and correct shipping address.

The following are basic precautions recommended by the CDC:

  1. Clean your hands often. Wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  2. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available.
  3. Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands, particularly your eyes, nose and mouth.
  4. Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  5. If you cough or sneeze, use a shirt sleeve or tissue, not your hands. Then, wash your hands again.
  6. Practice Social-Distancing, which means putting at least 6 feet in between yourself and anyone near you in public spaces.
  7. If you must greet others, avoid handshakes or hugs. Opt for waves or an elbow bump. (We like using Mr. Spock’s token hand gesture!)
  8. Keep your work area well sanitized.
  9. If you aren’t feeling well and are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please restrict your exposure and seek medical attention if necessary.
  10. Cover your face with a mask or cloth face covering if you must go out in public.
