RICO’S PICK :: THE WHITE SUITS: Who are The White Suits? Sharp-dressed killers taking on the New York underworld? Is there more to them than that? From the looks of things, Frank J. Barbiere and Toby Cypress are set to deliver a great looking crime series packed with action and mystery. Check out a quick preview of series
HEATHER’S PICK :: A+X #17: This team up had me sold with one word: Broo. That’s right, Jason Aaron has made a little nerdy brood one of my favorite X-Men. I can’t wait to see how a job shadowing with Tony Stark goes. It will be interesting to see how Broo improves Stark Industries and perhaps locks down a future job.

It’s finally here! Alan Moore and Steve Parkhouse’s grand finale to The Bojeffries Saga. This comic delight was first published in short segments in Britain’s Warrior (along with Miracleman and V for Vendetta–whoa!) and continued throughout the ’90s in A1 and Dalgoda. This is a chilling and hilarious and quite frankly delightful take of the macabre goings on in the Bojeffries household. Imagine if Charles Addams published by The Village Voice instead of the droll New Yorker. What a family!! AND It’s only 15.00!!! this is for all fans of Alan Moore, the Far Side, Gahan Wilson, Basil Wolverton and the aforementioned master Charles Addams. Don’t miss this!
JUSTIN’S PICK :: THE BOJEFFRIES SAGA GN: Alan Moore is a pretty divisive presence in the funnybook sphere nowadays; the only people more vociferous than his fans seem to be his detractors. So I – fish nor foul – often feel a little lonely, being a moderate fan of the guy (i.e. I love his work, could care less about his personality). This book collects some old Warrior strips with Steve Parkhouse (plus a new installment to bring the family’s exploits into the present day). The Bojeffries Saga is billed as a mash-up of the Addams Family and Coronation Street, creepy, quintessentially British, all at once. Anglophiles note.

SETH’S PICK :: THE MERCENARY SEA #1: The past few years have been a new golden age of sorts if you happen to be a fan of classic adventure and pulp comics. We’ve seen the return of The Rocketeer alongside quality new series like Half Past Danger and Black Beetle. Image gets in on the fun this week with a new adventure series of their own called The Mercenary Sea. Set in the late ’30s, the series focuses on a ragtag group of mercenaries working odd jobs around the South Seas in a U-boat stolen by their captain. Against the backdrop of impending war, the series promises everything from spies and pirates, to old fashioned war elements. Though I’m not all that familiar with the previous works of creators Kel Symons and Matthew Reynolds, the previews I’ve seen of this new book suggest it’s a book well worth your investment this week.
